Saving Grace Children Place is Here to Help The Youth and Young Parents Succeed.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Mama & Me is a residential placement for pregnant youth and young mothers in Child Protective Services (CPS). This program will be carried out in three different phases including a General Residential Operation (Phase I), Transitional Living (Phase II) and Independent Living (Phase II). The youth will start at the GRO where they will begin their services individualized within the program and all needs will be met. After completion of that program the youth will transition to Transitional Living (Phase II). Saving Grace Children Place will provide a therapeutic Transitional Living setting where appropriate social, educational, emotional, cognitive, and developmental functional life skills can be established, applied and maintained until the age of 18. We understand the importance of Independent Living after finishing high school and entering higher education; therefore, every aspect of our operation is centered on our youth’s preparedness for Independent Living (Phase III). In the Independent Living program the youth will still get support as a young mother as they further their education and began to head out into society. This vision is paramount to our mission because we understand the importance exposure, education, stability, comprehension, application and self-trial and error. We will grow our youth and give them the tools to achieve future success and become independent, functional, and productive citizen within their community. These young mothers are between the ages of 14 and 22 depending on the phase they are residing. Due to being in the custody of Child Protective Services (CPS) these youth are packaged with trauma related issues involving abuse and neglect in which they received from being poorly parented. Therefore, Saving Grace Children Place will provide mental health services for stabilization paired with educating the youth academically, parenting training, and vocational skills. This recipe will ensure the production of successful young mothers and break generational curses.
